The Jungle Ultra is creeping ever closer and I don’t appear to be any further along the lines in terms of organisation, well, thats according to my spare room floor which is covered in food, kit and goodness knows what else!!
The kit for the race is all gathered together and waiting to be put in the pack ready to be weighed, however as always I struggle with the food choices.  I have my perpetuem for ...

Everyone has been moaning about the rain we have been having, but luckily for me I have managed to miss it each day when I go out for my run – him upstairs must have his brolly up for me!
Running has been going well.  For 7 days I run 16k each day then have two days off then either do the same again or up the daily distances until I fly to Peru on the ...

My spare room bed looks as though a bomb has landed on it.  Running kit, sleeping bag, medical box,  it’s at the moment on the bed and every time I think of something else that I might need I throw it onto the heap, this system works well for me while sorting out kit.  When my order arrives from Likeys and I have purchased my food I can start to be more logical, get rid ...

Since my last post I have been to Scotland and back and I didn’t even need a passport!
It was a great shame to miss the Highland Fling but was absolutely the right decision for me to have made; many congratulations to everyone who took part.  HWMBO and I arrived at the Old Bags house in time for tea followed by a delicious supper, I ate far too much then went to bed ready for my ...

Cross training continues with a vengeance and just to make me work a bit harder I have started wearing my backpack.  The Jungle isn’t that far away and having got up to 10kg with my pack before my achilles flared up I’m now slightly concerned that my body will struggle to carry the pack.
On Friday I had some acupuncture which was fantastic and a few hours later I couldn’t feel the achilles at all, so ...

My feet are looking gorgeous, I could even wear stroppy sandals they are looking so marvellous.  Sadly the same can’t be said for my running.  The body is now ready to go (has been for a few days) but my achilles is not quite there, very nearly but still has some bruising and I feel its far more sensible putting the running off for a few more days to let it settle down properly, otherwise ...

The reason for my lack of blogs recently has been the total nightmare of the Anderson internet.
HWMBO decided that we needed a new router as he might in the near future be moving into his office (I’m not throwing him out, but working from home looks likely to be on the books so off to PC world we trundled, chatted to the staff who for once seemed to know what they were talking about (either ...

The bags are pack and I’m ready to go….well nearly!
On Saturday myself and 28 other competitors set out on the Viking Way Ultra, this will be a real challenge, not just because of the distance but  because of the rain we have been having recently making the hundreds of fields that we cross muddy and tough going, throw into the mix of  navigation skills against the time restraints and you have one hell of an ...
