The past couple of weeks has been a whirlwind of running, talking, more running and in between catching up with friends and attempting to be a domestic goddess to keep HWMBO happy!
My training is going OK although I’m struggling to do more than 4 hours with my pack, not because I’m not able to but because I’m finding it very dull running round the same old routes and sadly because of time constraints haven’t able to go somewhere else – never mind I’m off to France for a 10 day holiday so will have somewhere new to run, exciting times.
On Monday I spend a fantastic day in London with 3 girl friends having lunch and going to the Theatre to see House of Mormon, excellent and very funny and extremely “risky” at points but then it was written by the same person who does Southpark – I’m sure some of it went right over my head – I’m not called New York for nothing!
Decided that HWMBO needs to do some exercise, he can’t run and I know won’t do any biking, so have managed to persuade him that swimming is the way forward – he managed two days, I’m not impressed with his lack of commitment so will be trying again once we return from holiday.
Very exciting, my new Ambit2 arrived on Monday given to me by Suunto; I’m delighted with it and so far seems very easy to use and switching between modes while I’m running is easy. The only downside for me is the watch is quite big and I have to have the strap on its tightest hole, but nevertheless its still very comfortable and I love it (perhaps they will bring out a ladies version in the not too distant future). It will be ideal for Spartathlon with its long battery life of 50 hours.
Talking of the Spartathlon, the Buffs for the British Team have arrived designed by Mark Howlett of Howlett Designs, they look fantastic so hopefully everyone will wear them with pride.
The Logo for my big adventure/challenge in 2014 has now been finalised and it looks amazing, Samantha and I are really pleased with it so a big thank you goes to Apula Design in South Africa for their great work. I know it seems very odd getting a SA company to do the design work but it’s owned by a very good friend of mine who also designed my website and my Marvellous Mimi logo. I can’t wait to show you all.
My bags are packed and of course my trainers, running kit and backpack have been squeezed in ready for a lovely holiday in the Sun, fantastic. I hope everyone enjoys the marvellous weather which is due this weekend and I will see you on my return.
Happy Holidays
