Not as flexible as my flexible friend!

Saturday was supposed to be my second long run day, unfortunately my osteopath had tweaked, pulled, hurt and twisted my body into extra-ordinary shapes and told me there I could do anything I liked on Saturday as long as it wasn’t running, humph and knickers not happy.

What a glorious day it turned out to be so instead of spending the time inside at the gym I took my ElliptiGo out for a spin. For those of you who don’t know what they are take a look at their website – http://www.elliptigo.co.uk/

ElliptiGo’s can be used along side your run training and if injured they are also extremely good as you can still train (depending obviously on the injury)  It uses the same muscles as running but there’s no impact.  Yes you will get some funny looks and a few comments but if it works who cares!

Long run happened on Sunday, up early to fit it in before collecting HWMBO from the airport as he’d been away skiing – lucky man, felt good and was happy with the weeks training.

This week has gone well, although the first of my tempo runs my legs felt rather weak and pathetic, perhaps because it was after my long run, very frustrating.  I have enjoyed my long runs runs but due to lack of time I have had to run on road rather than trail which is a bore but better to get the session done in full than only manage half.

I did my first yoga session this week, good grief I couldn’t even cross my legs properly so obviously there is a lot of work to be done on my flexibility. On the positive side I can only get better!

My last run of the week was on Saturday, HWMBO and I drove to the forest, HWMBO took the dogs for a long walk and I did my second tempo run of the week, delighted with my time so shows that although it was still hard that things are moving slowing in the right direction.    I have a huge amount of work to do in order to even try and keep up with the top ladies on the TP100 this year, we shall see.

My right foot is very sore on the top where I had my lump removed.  Its also red and swollen so if it doesn’t heal on its own it will probably mean a trip to the doctors to check there isn’t an infection brewing.

Have a marvellous week.
