Wow I had a fantastic birthday weekend. On the day of my birthday myself and HWMBO went down to Walmer where we stayed with great friends, went out to dinner and finished the evening sitting in their hot tub in the garden, nothing like a bit of skinny dipping when your 50! The following morning the sun was shinning so I went for a wonderful run along the coast, up to the needles and back; I felt as though I could conquer the world today, a good feeling.
The following morning Jo and I took in some culture by going to the Turner Contemporary in Margate and I have come to the conclusion that I really don’t like Tracey Emin’s art (sorry) its just too weird and child like for me. It was wonderful sitting outside enjoying lunch, the light by the sea is quite beautiful. HWMBO and I arrived home at about 4 to be greeted by my family and a few of their friends who were there to celebrate my birthday, such a wonderful surprise and a very emotional moment for me. The party started with party games so Theo could join in then later they had organised some of my friends to come and have a BBQ – very spoiling and my children were amazing.
Training is going well. The distances are slowly picking up and the great news is my ankle appear to be coping well, although I am still strapping it for each session. This week I ran 20k, 10k,20k, 30k followed by 25k then 16k and still my ankle feels OK so next week the accelerator goes on.
Great news this week, I received my sponsorship for my big event in September. I have been planning this for over a year now and knew that unless I managed to secure a sponsor it wouldn’t happen, so you can imagine my delight when I received the phone call telling me the good news – smiles all round. Planning can now continue! To find out more about my big event take a look under the News section.
Most of my events for next year seem to be in place, although I’m still looking for a sponsor for my big one at the beginning of the year but am very excited.
Less than two weeks to go until Wayward Daughter No. 1 gets married………….
Happy Training
