Today was positive in many ways. Firstly I had a great session dragging my tyre round the forest for a speed session. Boy could I feel it in my legs and lungs, sounded like an old steam training huffing and puffing its way along the track, but felt marvellous when I had finished. I then changed, had a coffee and went out for an easy 8.5k, luckily for me I managed to complete both runs before the rain really set in!
My youngest daughter also had a positive day, which is fantastic and gives her something to be proud of, focus on and hopefully start moving forward, I’m very proud of her as she has really struggled over the last few months.
In the afternoon my ElliptiGO bike was delivered so when the guys had disappeared I thought I would have a go – ha! the first thing I had to work out was how to get on the bike without falling. Harriet thought this was very funny and couldn’t understand why I was having a problem so I handed the bike over to her and said “well show me how easy it is then” WELL on she got and off she went, made it look SO simple. Not to be out done by Harriet I took it for a spin round the garden – not so bad, but it will take a bit of getting used to. Once I have got the hang of it I will incorporate the ElliptiGO into my training schedule.
My hammock for the Jungle arrived today, very exciting. I have put it away until I have time to attempt to put it up, on the instructions its say it can be done in 2 minutes! hum, we shall wait and see.
Tomorrow is a 40k run – for this I will take myself off to the North Downs Way but this time turn left instead of right – nothing like a change of route!
Happy training
