The first week of training has gone well, in fact it has gone better than well it has been fantastic. I’ve enjoyed all my runs, even my speed work, although at the time I thought I was going to die, but hopefully with hard work my speeds will improve! As the weeks go on I will have to push myself harder in order to try and achieve the goals I have set myself this year.
It was very odd this morning waking up and not taking the dogs out for a run, so I thought I would do what HWMBO does on a sunday morning, stay in bed and watch the Andrew Marr show….well, I was wide awake at 6am, downstairs and made coffee, came back up to bed, tried to relax and possibly go back to sleep, not a chance, so I read my book – lovely! (HWMBO still asleep) After about half an hour of reading my book I got all fidgety again, so downstairs, more coffee, then re-appeared upstairs with note book, iPad and pen ready to start making plans etc for my two big projects, now this was more like it. (HWMBO now awake) Completely missed the AM show, have no idea what David Cameron was talking about but was very happy in my own little world!
Son & Heir to Nothing helped HWMBO in the garden today, shock horror, a very rare event but much appreciated, even I got roped into helping, gardening isn’t on the top of my best things to do on a sunday, but it kept everyone happy.
Wayward Daughter No. 1 and I are going to a wedding fair in February which will be great fun, we can look at all those marvellous expensive wedding dresses that we can’t afford! Actually its a great thing to do, I remember the build up to my wedding (only 3 months) was very exciting, my parents gave us an amazing day, one I have always remembered and I hope I can do the same for my daughter.
After a day of leisure, I’m very much looking forward to my run tomorrow along the North Downs way, using my new backpack for the first time. I thought it was about time I started getting used to it as this is the pack I plan to use for the Jungle.
Another week of exciting runs ahead, roll on Monday!
Happy Training
