I’m throughly enjoying being back into the swing of training. Feeling very motivated and positive which is wonderful as towards the end of last year I lost confidence in my abilities.
Wednesday I met up with a friend and we ran a lovely muddy route at Hempsted, although there do seem to be a lot of dog owners who let their dogs jump up or chase runners, a tad frustrating at times as they could easily trip us up causing injury – not that i’m paranoid! Slight negative about the run was my lower back and stomach were sore, unfortunately a ladies problem so just had to run through it.
Once home I sorted out some racing admin, chatted to clients, the went to have my hair cut. Everyone has a dream/vision of how they would like their hair to be, my vision is long, blonde and flowing, what do I have? Thick, wiry hair with a very small forehead so I can’t grow it long or I would end up looking like a witch! (such a scary thought!) but there is always a positive – I won’t go bald!
Today was a gym day, originally the plan was to run, spin then gym, sadly katie who takes us for Spinning wasn’t feeling too well and had to go home, so I did my speed session – nearly killed me but loved it, did some cross training, core, then home for a bath, collected youngest daughter then drove to Tunbridge Wells to meet up with Wayward Daughter No. 1 and Fin (12 wk old grandson) to look for patterns for teenage bridesmaids dresses.
Youngest daughter disappeared to buy clothes while we did what she considered “boring stuff”. We met up later to buy her clothes for interviews. Now you might think this is an easy task, not with my daughter, she is a nightmare, no dresses, skirts, in fact nothing remotely girly will she wear, so as I knew she and I would fall out. I took charge of the baby and left Wayward Daughter No. 1 to sort it out…..PHEW great clothes and shock horror they actually fitted! Harriet (youngest daughter) is a very small frame yet wears clothes that are about two sizes too big! so lovely to see her neat figure.
Tomorrow is another double day, 16k in the morning and 10k in the afternoon, then a run on Saturday and Sunday is my day off!!
Happy training.
