Christmas nearly here!

With a week to go until Christmas I have been busy preparing the house, wrapping and sending presents to relatives and putting in my order of food and wine for deliver, in fact I’m feeling extremely well organised and ready a great few days with all my children, grandchildren and son-in-law to be (poor chap!)

Like most families we have our traditions, one of them is opening stockings on Christmas morning in our bedroom (thankfully we have a HUGE bed so can accommodate all of us), Wayward Daughter No. 1 however has requested that this year we go downstairs and open the stockings while eating breakfast as SIL (son-in-law) might be a tad embarrassed sitting in our bedroom! Poor chap, imagine having to go into your in-laws bedroom while they are still in bed…….don’t think I could have coped with that!

The Christmas tree is decorated and Christmas cake made.

My running this week started off on a bad note and finished on a sore note! The bad note was a cold which knocked me for 6 on saturday so didn’t do any running until tuesday, even then my HR was far too high, much better on Wednesday and improved as the week went on.  My run on Friday I felt extremely positive for the first time in ages about my running so know that I’m ready to go back to training  properly.  On Saturday things went back downhill again.  HWMBO was dragged out of the house to the forest (otherwise he would have stayed inside all day being lazy) I went for a run and he walked the dogs – a great combination! On returning to the house I bathed then set about wrapping the presents up, stupidly I was sitting in a weird position, leant forward and felt a slight click on the LHS of my lower back, OUCH.  This caused  discomfort not only in my back but in my neck as well, hence the week ending on a sore note!  No running today (sunday) but hopefully will be back to normal by Monday.

On a completely different subject, I have managed to add my Double Badwater and Spartathlon pictures to my website, I’m very pleased with myself (pats myself on back!)

Many Congratulations to Alex Flynn and his wife on the safe and wonderful arrival of their new son.

Time to be domestic, enjoy the rest of your weekend and Happy training.
