After months and months of preparation, worry, panic, planning, more worry the big day finally arrived and with it the sun decided that it was time to come out and play. Wayward Daughter No. 1 and SILY had an amazing day. The Bride looked stunning, my youngest daughter who hates looking like a girl looked beautiful, Son & Heir to Nothing read with passion at the Church, HWMBO, SILY and the best man all gave short but very funny speeches. My Aunt did the most fantastic flowers both in the marquee and the church and The Old bag made a wedding cake to die for. The day was nothing short of MARVELLOUS and finished off with throwing a few shapes round the floor to an awesome 6 piece band.
While Wayward Daughter No. 1 and husband go on honeymoon I am in charge of my two small grandsons. As well as fitting in my training I will have to find ways of entertaining them which could be amusing, I have forgotten how long it takes to do simple jobs like getting everyone and everything into the car. Everything is going to plan when Small grandsons decides its time to fill his nappies – Oh PLEEEASE!
Thankfully everything seems to be going OK – although I do have occasions when I can’t cope with the constant noise – well its not just noise its high level noise (sadly I’m not deaf!) and HWMBO has gone fishing in Scotland, well timed as usual. It has been a busy week of beach combing, swimming in rock pools, running round playgrounds, spending all day in a swimming pool, playing in tents, helping to water the greenhouse (although I think more water went over me than the tomatoes) and having the usual tantrums when a certain 4 year old doesn’t get his own way – all quite normal then!
The Old Bag looked after the boys for 3 hours on Monday so I could run and a couple of hours on Tuesday. Wednesday became far too difficult to fit in a training session, but managed a 3 hour on Thursday, 2.5 hrs on Friday and 3 hours on Saturday. Completing the week with an 10k along a canal. This week has been great as I have run in different locations, along the beach in Rye a couple of times, wiggled around the lanes of Benenden and Tenterden and enjoyed the beauty of the Avon & Kennet Canal. At long last I have a tan which is marvellous so lets hope that the summer goes on for a wee bit longer.
The last bits to organise for the WRA in September have been put on the back burner until the end of this week when the boys go back to their parents. The bunkcamper has been booked so there really isn’t that much more to be done. My Garmin has been sent off for repair or renewal as I’m unable to download any courses onto it, which obviously I need for M2M.
Many congratulations to Jennifer Bradley who has just completed her Run Across America, absolutely fantastic. Neil Bryant is on day three of his Trans Europe so wishing him all the best – its all go in the Ultra Running world!
I’m now off for a well deserved glass of wine – Chin Chin!
Happy Training
