Cross training continues with a vengeance and just to make me work a bit harder I have started wearing my backpack. The Jungle isn’t that far away and having got up to 10kg with my pack before my achilles flared up I’m now slightly concerned that my body will struggle to carry the pack.
On Friday I had some acupuncture which was fantastic and a few hours later I couldn’t feel the achilles at all, so hopefully it has speeded up the healing process. One more session on Tuesday and everything will be normal (she said keeping her fingers and toes crossed!!!) I’m looking forward to going for a short run on Monday then if that goes well it will be all systems go.
This weekend is the Christening of my beautiful Grandsons so you can imagine chaos has descended on my house! The Old Bag arrived on thursday and Wayward Daughter No. 1 and the boys arrived on Friday. I had left a lovely tidy house on Friday morning and on my return found chaos (I do struggle with mess!) however it was soon tidied up waiting for the next mess to be made after lunch – I love my family really.
The Old bag made for my youngest the most beautiful Christening robe which is now being worn by Fin, thankfully though he won’t be wearing the little bonnet as its a wee bit too girly and makes his face look very round!
Today I shall take myself off for an hour on my Elliptigo, which will make me less grumpy then its all hands to the deck getting ready for 22 people arriving for lunch on Sunday after the Christening.
The Lesotho Wildrun is on its last day today, this is a 3 day staged race in the most stunning location, I have two friends taking part who are going . The JOGLERS start their 2nd day today; lots of luck to them. Here are the result of day one.
