The reason for my lack of blogs recently has been the total nightmare of the Anderson internet.
HWMBO decided that we needed a new router as he might in the near future be moving into his office (I’m not throwing him out, but working from home looks likely to be on the books so off to PC world we trundled, chatted to the staff who for once seemed to know what they were talking about (either that or I was impressed with long words!) we bought the router and drove home. So far all going well……THEN
We get home and rather than wait for Son & Heir to Nothing to come home and sort everything out, HWMBO decided that with his vast knowledge of computers he would attach the new router to the computer. All was going smoothly until we tried to turn on Son & Heir to Nothing computer on….needed a password (little bugger!) he was away for the weekend, no phone and so no way of getting in contact – we went to bed.
Monday – Son & Heir to Nothing had still not returned home, I feeling extremely frustrated went to the gym to vent my anger on the machines, returned home to find my son, I was delighted to see him and set him the task of sorting out the problem – SIMPLES or not as the case may be.
No luck on Monday, we all have tense nervous headaches, the boys were doing a lot of shouting – I ignore them and have a glass of wine!
Tuesday the sparky arrived did a great job, I went to the gym leaving instructions for Son & Heir to Nothing to sort the computer out, after all he is supposed to be the computer guru. Returned to find him playing games on his computer…..deep breathe from me and then spend the next 3 hours on the phone to our internet provider who have their call centres in India, (at this point I was boiling over with frustration) to be told that it must be a fault on the router. Now I am positively bubbling over with frustration, can’t get on with anything else in the house so I pack up the router and return to PC world where they change it over, get home and GUESS WHAT – woohoo it connects! There is more to this story, more frustrations but I think by now you will be extremely bored, I on the other hand and feeling extremely liberated, I might even go and run round the garden naked to celebrate(what an awful thought!!!)
Tomorrow is a very special day, its the 4th birthday of my eldest grandson Theo. He has given us a huge amount of joy in his little life, I couldn’t imagine him not being around. Since he was a baby he and I have always had breakfast together when the rest of the family continue to sleep, I love those moments we have shared, we have giggled, shared toast and marmite and as grandparents do with their grandsons have put the world the rights!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY THEO xxx
