A glorious week so far, I have treated myself to a few lie-ins, well, I say lie-ins I still get up at the usual time and make coffee, but I go back to bed for a bit longer after HWMBO has gone to work – bliss.
On Monday I was lucky enough to get a fantastic massage from Jan who said my legs weren’t in too bad a condition, my left calf was a touch tight but everything else was fine, very pleased with that. The remainder of the day was spend with Wayward Daughter No. 1 sorting out yet more wedding stuff, every time I believe we are getting there I think of something else that needs doing, goodness knows when I will get round to getting my outfit. My daughter has instructed me to wear a completely over the top hat, I think I can accommodate her request.
Tuesday I did a short run on the Treadmill which felt fine, legs appeared to be working and no niggles, did a 30 minute bike session then into the forest with the dogs and met up with Wayward Daughter No. 1 and Fin for another short run. Wayward Daughter No. 1 is making a real effort to lose weight, hence the running – I introduced her to the delights of hill reps, not sure she liked them but did as she was told while Fin slept in his pushchair at the bottom of the short hill.
Today I took the dogs for another short run then home to be domestic as we have friends coming for supper. Its marvellous now the kids have left home or out for the evening we can play grown-ups, such a treat.
Sent an email to HWMBO today suggesting a “dirty” weekend away, he got very excited until he read the full email to discover it was to be a recce weekend, not his idea of romance but I’m sure I can persuade him.
Thank you to everyone who has sent me messages of congratulations after my race they are wonderful to receive and very much appreciated by me. Also a huge thanks to everyone who has donated. A lovely friend of my parents donated in memory of a family friend who passed away a few years ago suffering from Parkinson’s, a wonderful man.
I promise I will get round to writing my race report – better had before James Adams gives me a hard time :0)
Happy training.
