This week has been extremely relaxing on the running front. Monday I did an easy relaxed short run from the house, everything felt fine except for a slight niggle on my left knee where I had fallen during my Viking Way Recce. Tuesday I took the dogs to the forest for a slightly longer run, but again had a very slight niggle so cut it short and made the decision to do no more running until my race on Saturday.
Tuesday was a break though day as far as the Wedding preparations go. Emma and I went to a lovely Bridal shop in Headcorn to try on more dresses. Once again we were given white gloves to put on before we could handle the dresses and some coloured rings which you put on the dresses you wish to try on. The dress trying on session started. First few didn’t look good, then we had a stunning dress which Emma and I both loved so this was hung up as a “possibility” next one was even better so the first one was taken away…..are you following! Then she tries on the last dress that I had picked out because it was the shape she liked but different fabric – even though the dress was too small it looked fantastic. Now it was decision time. Both dresses went on again and the final decision was made, deposit paid and we walked out feeling very happy, one major item ticked off my to do list PHEW but most important of all the bride to be was ecstatic!
Today was spent doing wifely house things and trying to sort out my food, maps and kit for the TP100 this weekend. There is a fantastic group of competitors taking part, the womens field is strong so if I want to do well I will have to work for it. My training has gone well, I’m doing my usual feeling nervous bit before a race, but once I get going and into my stride I will relax a bit more. Believe it or not I do have a plan, I find it makes life much easier to have something to work with, doesn’t always go to plan but then thats normal – I can only do my best and see what happens.
