Its Wednesday already, where has the week gone!
Training seems to be going to plan. On Monday I had two sessions, both short, but the first one was a 7k from the house then had to take youngest daughter to an appointment which took up 4 hours. 2nd run of the day was a fast 10k. Good grief, it nearly killed me, my lungs felt as though they were going to burst and trying to keep my legs moving and breathing going up hills was very difficult, but I did it, didn’t break any records by any stretch of the imagination but felt extremely proud of myself having done it.
Tuesday was a 35k run with a light pack, I started off feeling great and a above easy pace and at about 21k my legs began to feel heavy and tired which really annoyed me as I still had 14k to go. When I had finished, feeling tired and very hungry and popped into the gym for a shower and also weighed my pack – just under 6kg, now wonder I my legs were feeling tired, my pack was far too heavy this early on in my training, stupid me! After my shower I headed off to Tunbridge Wells to meet up with Wayward Daughter No. 1, Georgie and baby Fin for our training session. It was amazing how many mothers pushing prams commented on how they should be doing that…..now theres a thought!
Today was an easy 15k run which I did at Hempsted along with the dogs, no pack this time just lots of mud! My legs pathetically were still feeling slightly heavy, very frustrating, I’m usually really good at building my pack weight up slowly .
Wedding planning is going well. Had a meeting today with a friend who is doing the food, made me feel very hungry just talking about it! I’m now feeling slightly more in control – I have lots of lists, plans and always have to remember that this is NOT my wedding but my daughters, very important that I don’t take control – just every so often I need to put my view forward! trying not in be bossy doesn’t come easily!!
Entries for Spartathlon are now open – feel rather jealous that I’m not doing it this year – it will always be there in 2013, but I look forward to cheering my fellow Brits on and supporting them from kent.
Off for a glass of wine!
Happy training
