Progressing well!

This week seems to be progressing well – from the training point of view anyway!  Tuesday wasn’t a great day for me, training went well but on a personal level it was,  to put in bluntly crap (sorry!)  thank goodness for my running to keep me sane.

First session of Tuesday was an easy 10k from home which I enjoyed.  I then met up with Wayward Daughter No. 1 in the forest and we did a 4k loop together.  She has just started running so it was a walk run strategy.  We had a good old giggle while I kept telling her not to lean on the pram,  as it wasn’t there for support!  Once finished I then ran 11k on my own, pyramid style, the middle section was tough but felt fantastic once finished.

Today (wednesday) although up at the usual time, it seemed to take me forever to get my backside out of the front door and into the forest.  Once in the forest I continued to take my time by chatting to a friend on the phone.  Finally with my lovely Inov-8 backpack on, bottles filled I pressed the start button on my Garmin 310XT and off I set for a 20k run.  About half way through the training I saw a lady running in front of me so did was I always do and picked up the pace to try and catch her! This always makes me giggle to myself, so pathetic but I just can’t help myself.  Saw lots of Green Woodpeckers today, they are lovely birds and fly in a swooping/bobbing motion, if you understand what I mean.

Once my run was finished I showered at the gym then met up with Wayward Daughter No. 1 and Fin as the little man (and myself) had an appointment with my marvellous osteopath.  Fin went first, apparently he lay on the couch and spent the 45 minute session smiling and giggling, wonderful.  During my session I could feel myself nodding off a couple of times – you know those moments when you can hear yourself snore and you wake up! that happened, but on the bright side I wasn’t dribbling.

Tomorrow is a two run day with a spin in the middle, bring it on!

Happy Training

I haven’t see Green Woodpeckers for a long time. We get the spotted ones in the garden in Cornwall.
