A marvellous Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all had a fantastic day full of surprises, thrills and above all time spent with friends and or family.

The Andersons had a fantastic Christmas.  Everything kicked off on Christmas Eve when Wayward Daughter No. 1, Theo, Fin and SILY (son in law yes!) arrived, you have never seen so much caggage, their car was spilling over with presses, luggage and baby kit.  Having unloaded the car and caused chaos in the once tidy house, we popped off down the road to Smarden Church for the Christingle Service.

It was wonderful to see all the children dress up for the Nativity story, sitting behind us was the donkey and an angel, with goodness knows how many shepherds and more angels in front of us!  Theo decided that he couldn’t be bothered with the dressing up idea, but was very happy playing at the back with the cars, sensible lad.  Towards the end of the service all the children go up and collect their orange (this represents the world) a red ribbon tided round the orange (this the Love) 4 cocktail sticks with sweets (N,W E and W) and lastly the Candle (the light of the world) They then stand along the aisle, had the candle lit and a huge amount of excitement from everyone when the lights of the Church were turned out – Harri was supervising Theo or he probably would have set light to the little girl next to him as he twisted the orange to have a closer look…..ooops!!

Later that evening before Theo went to bed we put the stuff out for Father Christmas, it really is wonderful to see the expression on Theos face, total belief, then he and I read the Christmas Story together, very special.  The next morning I took him downstairs to see if FC had been, he just couldn’t believe that his stocking had been filled AND Santa and Rudolph had eaten all the food!

Once the stockings had been opened and while everyone was showering I took my self off for a short but fast run, it was great to blow the cobwebs away.

We took Theo and the dogs for a walk to get rid of a bit of excess energy and get some fresh air then it was pressie opening time! The noise level went through the roof as the toys got bigger and noisier (Son & Heir To Nothing gave Theo a drum kit!!)  Harri was delighted with her clothes – thank goodness I got it right.  I was given some fantastic presses from my family,  I was very spoilt.

All in all a wonderful day spent with my family, I couldn’t ask for more.

Wayward Daughter No. 1 and family left today (boxing day) at about 12ish to continue their Christmas with SILY’s mother, I tidied the house, re-made beds etc and got the house ready for the Out-Laws arrival later in the afternoon.  Thankfully I managed to get a 10k run in, not very far I know, but it felt good to get my legs stretched.

Now its time for a bath and perhaps later a festive glass of the old amber nectar! Cheers

Happy training
